DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ARRANGING A FUNERAL:

  • birth and marriage certificate
  • identification document (passport) of the deceased 
  • identification document of the client

Clothes for the deceased are provided to the funeral home, which will clothe the deceased and lay them in the coffin.

INFORMATION FOR SURVIVING RELATIVES

Death certificate 

It is issued by the registry office at the place of death.
The client ordering a funeral will receive it by registered mail.

Official urn

It is provided on the basis of a request for urn delivery.
If the urn is not picked up within 1 year, it will be deposited to a shared burial place for a fee of 500 CZK without the option to pick it up.

Widow/Widower pension

Required documents – ID of the applicant, marriage certificate, death certificate, birth certificate of a child for orphan’s pension, confirmation of a student status (for children over 15 years of age).
The application is submitted at the District Social Security Administration in Litoměřice, Seifertova ul., phone no. +420 416 719 111.

Legal leave

If the client is the husband, wife or a parent of an under-age child – 2 days + 1 day for the ceremony; the leave is paid.
If the client is the son, daughter, granddaughter, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law or a person living in a shared household – 1 day + 1 day for the ceremony; the leave is paid.

For the ceremony

Nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins – 1 day for the ceremony – excused.

Inheritance

The client will be asked by a notary to discuss the inheritance via a registered letter based on the residence of the deceased within approximately 2 months.
The registry office automatically stops payments of the retirement pension..
